The Vineyards
Given our decision to concentrate exclusively on what is probably the world's most captivating and sophisticated white wine grape - Riesling - we are fortunate to have holdings in sites that are optimal for cultivating this grape: steep slopes with good exposure, coarse slate soils, and good water flow. These natural conditions enable grapes to develop ripe and complex fruit aromas in conjunction with a taut balance of minerals and acidity. Our fruity and lusciously sweet wines from these soils are never sticky-sweet or fatiguing, but rather they literally "dance on the palate" with a tremendous and exciting diversity of flavours that is unique in the world. It is only from these sites on the Mosel that even the most tightly structured wines still show great finesse and a charming touch of lightness.
